How does Childhelp Alert! work? Childhelp Alert! monitors each subscriber’s neighborhood, as defined by the zip code(s) that you have chosen. As often as once a month, the Childhelp Alert! network fires a pre-recorded alert message to a phone number, provided by you, if records indicate that a sexual offender has moved into your neighborhood.
When will the calls go out? Calls go out between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM in each time zone.
Can you call me at more than one number? No, your subscription only allows one contact phone number. To receive alerts at additional phone numbers, you may choose to have multiple subscriptions.
Do I need to be home to receive an Alert? No, your Childhelp Alert can be left for you on any answering machine or answering service.
Can Alert calls be sent to my cellular phone? Yes, by subscribing you are authorizing us to call you at whatever number you provide. There is no regulation that prevents us from calling your cell phone.
Can I be protected in more than one zip code? Yes, your “neighborhood” can include up to three zip codes. Once you’re a subscriber, you may update your account information to include up to three zip codes. Please remember, however, that your call will not indicate in which of your monitored zip codes there has been a change. It will be up to you to update your records for all of your monitored zip codes.
What if I change phone numbers or my address after I have signed up? Updating your account is easy and can be done on the website in minutes. Do remember, however, that it is your responsibility to keep your account information current with Childhelp Alert!.
Is there a difference between the six month subscription and the twelve month subscription? The service is the same for all subscribers. The differences are only in the length of your protection period and the average monthly cost. We recommend that all subscribers opt for the twelve month subscription. It’s the best value and the least likely to leave you with a lapse in coverage.
How is my subscription renewed? Renewal and renewal billing are automatic and occur at the end of your agreement, unless cancelled by you prior to the renewal date.
How do I cancel my subscription? Follow instructions on the web-page. Cancellations are immediate. No Alerts will be sent once a cancellation notice has been received.
Will I get a refund if there is time left on my subscription? No, unfortunately we are unable to give refunds for any unused portion of your subscription.
